Some cats can eat anything. Some can't. Evie Digestive Care is for the second group.

The primary protein is hydrolysed turkey (40% freshly prepared), broken down into small peptides using a natural enzymatic process derived from papaya. This does two things at once — it makes the protein more efficiently absorbed, and it reduces the antigenic load, meaning it's less likely to provoke the immune reactions that underlie many food sensitivities. In feeding studies conducted at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Poland, this recipe achieved 92% protein digestibility, well above the FEDIAF standard of 80%.

A second hydrolysed protein — 15% dried salmon — provides complementary amino acids and reinforces the same principle.

The recipe includes:

• FOS and MOS prebiotics — to feed beneficial gut bacteria, support a balanced microbiome, and help reduce the compounds that contribute to unpleasant stool odour
• Collagen (4.6% of the finished recipe) to help support the tight-junction structure of the intestinal lining
• Cellulose — natural fibre for firm, well-formed stools and regular gut motility
• L-carnitine for energy metabolism and lean body composition
• Taurine at 2,010 mg/kg — non-negotiable for feline heart, eye and reproductive health
